And the story begins...

I decided to enter the world of blogging (please excuse any typos or formatting issues...still trying to master this!) to keep those that are not in town up to date on the lives of the Dulock's.  I also wanted to have a virtual journal for Walker.  It is difficult to share with everyone how much joy has been in our lives ever since the arrival of Walker Reagan.  Yes there were moments of stress with reflux and sleepless nights, however, the past eight weeks couldn't have been anymore perfect getting the opprotunity to watch Walker grow and explore this world!   This first post will be a lengthy one to catch everyone up through the many pictures and exciting moments we had preparing for Walker and his debut at the hospital.

In the summer of 2009 we were blessed to find out we would be expanding our family from the two of us and our beagles to a family of three with two dogs!  We began preparing for Walker as soon as we found out that we were pregnant.

We began saving money, thinking about how to arrange the bedrooms to accomidate a new addition, and we began to prepare mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.  We had many ultrasounds throughout the pregnancy and it was amazing to watch him grow!  Here is a peak of the baby bean that Walker started out as and the miracle of who he is today!

32 weeks

Those are just a few of the many pictures we had captured prior to Walker's arrival.  The photograph at 32 weeks truly captures his cheeks that he has now! :)

Through the pregnancy we began creating Walker's room.  We put alot of thought and effort into the place that he would hang out.  We truly wanted it to be a special place for him.  Here are a few pics of Walker's room.  We were going for theme that would grow with him.  We chose a vintage feel for the room with an emphasis on different colors and textures.

Once the room was put together and complete we began to have baby showers!  My good friend, Stacia hosted one down here in Cypress, Ray's family hosted one in West, and each of us had a shower at our work.  Walker came into the world with plenty of cute outfits, diapers, and wipes!  Here are a few shots from the baby showers.

The mommy to be and her oh so yummy cake!

Walker received many presents..this is a pic of the cross his Uncle Sidney painted and a basket full of swim gear from his Pappa.
This is the awesome table setting from the shower in West.

This was my tummy at 34 1/2 weeks.  Walker arrived  two and a half weeks later!

The first family photo!
On March 11, 2010, I went in for my weekly check up.  After a near death experience on the ultrasound table (okay, maybe not near death, but definitely embarrassing..I almost passed out), the doctor decided it was time to induce (blood pressure was getting high and I had horrible swelling of the feet!) and have a birthday party!  So we checked into Memorial Hermann Katy at 10 PM that night to get things going.  As many of you know, I am all about being unique and doing things differently from every one else, well, that's how my birth story goes too!  The induction did not go as planned because of several complications with my blood pressure and other unexplained hurdles.  I was rushed into the OR for an emergency c-section.  Walker was not phased by it all and scored a 9 on his APGAR score at birth!  Here are a few pictures from the hospital.  Please excuse the puffiness....all of the drugs that I had made me huge!

RayRay is ready to meet Walker in the OR.

Walker arrived at 11:17 am.  We were a little late on taking the pic.

Walker Reagan Dulock was born on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 11:17 am.  He weighed 8 pounds 2 ounces and measured 19 inches long!  Notice the set of  lungs he has on him...he screamed from the moment he was born in the OR.

My first look at Walker.  It was love at first sight!

First time in the room!

 Our first family portrait!
Walker's grammy, popo, and his aunts!
Walker's pappa...he will be the one to teach him all of his bad habits! :)

Walker and his Uncle Sidney...I pray that Walker will follow in his Uncle's footsteps.
His official stats on his door!
All bundled up to come home!
Home sweet home!
Ray and I have learned so much about Walker Reagan since he has arrived, and we have learned a lot about ourselves individually and as a couple.   More to come soon....

Walker...you have truely been a blessing since I first met you.  I cannot believe that in three days you will be 8 weeks old.  They say that the time flies by fast...they are right.  You have changed so much from the first day that I met you.  You have faced the world head on.  You are head strong and love to snuggle like your mommy and you are laid back just like your daddy.  Your dad and I cannot wait to share memories with you!  As we speak, you are in your room, in your bed, sleeping....dreaming of what's to come!  I love you Walker!
