And the story begins...

Summer is near...

It has been a while since the last post.  Since going back to work it has been hard to make a point to sit down and blog.  When I come home after work, I am totally into Walker and listening to him talk to me about his day.  That has been the newest milestone for Walker...he has began to be quite the conversationalist and he is whooing people with his amazing smile and big blue eyes!  Who wouldn't spend all their time with such a handsome lil' man!

For Memorial Day weekend, Ray wanted to invite some friends over to have burgers and just hang out at the house.  We had a great time with some awesome friends!  Walker struggled taking naps at his normal time because of all of the excitement at the house, but once he settled down for a nap he enjoyed the company as well.  Here are a few pics from Memorial Day weekend.

With the close of Memorial Day weekend, I was blessed with a short, four day work week.  At work we are gearing up for quite a few professional development courses, so the week went by quickly since we were super busy.  Friday afternoon we headed to Brenham for my little brother's high school graduation from Bellville High School.  Walker's Uncle Sidney is going to be heading to Colorado School of Mines.  I am so very proud of Sidney, but not excited about him being so far away.  I tried to convince him to just pack us up and take us with him, but he said there wasn't enough room.  :-)

The graduation was moved from outside in the high school stadium to the auditorium at Brenham High School.  Walker did a great job throughout the whole commencement, however, afterwards, the lack of awesome AC inside the building and Texas humidity got the better of him.  He was already sweaty, but by the end of the night he began to get fussy because he was too hot.  Our solution was to have Walker chillin' in just his diaper!  :)  He's such a hot kiddo...I'm sure that "just his diaper" will be a more common occurance throughout the Texas summer.  Here are some pics from Uncle Sidney's graduation!

I am looking forward to spending the summer with Walker and being able to experience life with him!  He wakes up every morning so very excited about his day.  Yes, I am counting down the number of work days left, but my mentor, Roy Garcia put it best to me a couple of weeks ago...."You don't need to be counting down the number of days left til you are off of work, you need to be coutning the number of days you have left to make a difference."  That will be my mentality this last week of work prior to summer. Summer is near...
Walker--
My lil' man...you are such a happy baby!  You love everything you do.  You have reminded me to live life to the fullest.  At your Uncle Sidney's graduation, the guest speaker had a great piece of advice that I hope to one day share with you, "We are one decision away from any moment in time from having everything we ever hoped for, but we are also one decision away from losing everything we ever hoped for." -Jim Jacobus  This same man told Sidney's graduating class to grab life by the horns and to not sit back and just be, but to do different!  I cannot wait to see the successful life experiences that you will encounter.  I know that there will be all type of decisions that you will have to make, but those decisions will shape your character.  Walker...I love you lil' man!
